If you cannot write well, you cannot think well; if you cannot think well, others will do your thinking for you.
Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self-conscious and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't "try" to do things. You simply "must" do things.
If you do not think about the future, you cannot have one.
If you want to. That’s the important thing. For you to do what you want to do. Not what you think anyone else wants or expects you to do.
I can tell you that once upon a time when I was doing public events people would ask me, "What do you think about the arts?, What do you think of the role of women?, What do you think of men?, What do you think of all of these things?", and now they ask one thing, and that one thing is this, "Is there hope?"
You don't have to think about doing the right thing. If you're for the right thing, then you do it without thinking.
Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire.
Never be embarrassed by the things you cannot do. Be embarrassed by the things you can do and don't do well.
Do you not think that there are things which you cannot understand, and yet which are, that some people see things that others cannot? But there are things old and new which must not be contemplated by men's eyes, because they know, or think they know, some things which other men have told them.
You must think for yourself, what you must do. If someone tells you, then you are not trying.
